Can we optimize the visibility and recognition of skills through safe and reliable credentials?
Can we organize credentials by type, level, and subject area?
Can we ensure integration with secure digital wallets now and in the future?
HEAL-Link, an affiliate partner to OpenAIRE in the EU-funded PATTERN project, and Web2Learn have the answer!
Following the official agreement between the two parties, on May 22, 2025 the Web2Learn team, composed of Katerina Zourou (CEO), Stefania Oikonomou, Claire Fragiadaki and Korina Defteraiou, met with Dr. Giannis Tsakonas and Theodora Karaiskou (Library & Information Center, University of Patras on behalf of HEAL-Link) to finalize next steps in this new collaboration chapter:
Web2Learn is in charge of co-defining the strategy, then designing and issuing verifiable credentials (VCs) for participants of workshops organised by the HEAL-Link in the framework of the PATTERN project.
The agreement includes also the provision of technical support by Web2Learn’s IT team (task leader: Claire Fragiadaki), as well as an online training offered by the Web2Learn team to the team of HEAL-Link on verifiable credentials; their value and role in skills recognition. The online training was successfully carried out on Tuesday 27th of May at 9am EET, with the participation of university staff and professionals within and beyond the University of Patras. We would like to warmly thank all participants for actively attending our training workshop!
Through the May 22 meeting, Web2Learn and HEAL-Link agreed on the next steps in the process of issuing the VCs, starting from June 2025 and completing this collaboration by June 2026.
Web2Learn would like to especially thank Dr. Giannis Tsakonas for embracing the vision of expanding verifiable credentialization in education, and for the warm welcome of our colleague, Korina Defteraiou, at the premises of the University in Patras.
