Description

Citizen observatories are community-based environmental monitoring initiatives and platforms that engage multiple stakeholders, including citizens, community groups and civil society organisations. In general, they gather data and share observations. The CitiObs project, in collaboration with key stakeholder groups, aims to enhance existing and new citizen observatories.

Web2Learn will set up a citizen observatory in the remote Greek island of Lemnos, Greece, in collaboration with schools, teachers and students. The observatory will monitor air quality in Lemnos through Do-It-Yourself (DIY) sensors that are provided by the programme and installed in the island by Web2Learn.
