Web2Learn initiative for water scarcity is now part of the EU “Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters” Charter!

We are very excited to share that our initiative “Tackling water scarcity through citizen engagement” has been accepted under the EU under the “Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters” Charter!

Through our 1-day face-to-face event in Myrina, Limnos island, Greece, we aim to bring forward the value of academia-business-civil society collaboration to tackle water scarcity. Our action is a continuation of our ongoing and solid commitment to enhance citizen participation and multistakeholder engagement in actions to tackle water scarcity! Our latest initiative is the Acting4Water data visualisations: https://web2learn.eu/acting4water/visualisations/

This is a recognition that our action plays a central role in delivering against and contributing to one or more of the following Mission Ocean and Waters objectives:
I. Protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030
II. Prevent and eliminate pollution of our ocean, seas and waters, in line with the EU Action Plan Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water and Soil
III. Make the sustainable blue economy carbon-neutral and circular, in line with the proposed European Climate Law and the holistic vision enshrined in the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy.
