The meeting began with a brief welcome from Professor Marina Matthaioudaki, who embraced our initiative from the outset. Next, Stefania Oikonomou (Web2Learn) informed participants about the goals and milestones of the initiative and kicked off a very interesting group discussion!
Thus, after the participants had gotten to know each other, the discussion began on the challenges faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing people when they resort to public health facilities. The discussion was enriched by the contribution of Mr. Zachos Liakopoulos (nurse at Papanikolaou Hospital), whom we thank for his participation.
The first meeting of the group concluded with participants sharing initial ideas for the themes of the videos to be produced. The group’s next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m.!
2nd Workshop
In the second workshop, held on April 9, 2025, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, participants were divided into mixed groups (female students and deaf/hard-of-hearing students) and began working on the theme and script for their video.
At the end of the workshop, the teams presented their progress in writing the theme and script for the video, while the next meeting of the teams was rescheduled for May 7.
3rd Workshop
In the third workshop, held on May 7, 2025, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the mixed teams (female students and deaf/hard-of-hearing students) shot their videos based on the scripts they had written in the previous workshop.
This third workshop gave the teams the opportunity to take immediate action, adopting different roles and filming their short videos!
We look forward to seeing the results of this activity!
4th Workshop
In the fourth and final workshop, held on May 28, 2025, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Web2Learn team presented their videos in their final form to the groups (students and deaf/hard of hearing people), accompanied by Greek and English subtitles!
The participants were thrilled with the result and shared their own experiences from our wonderful initiative! We renewed our appointment with them for the fall of 2025 with the next stages of the BOLD project!
