Acting4DHH II

Citizen social science for the benefit of Deaf communities

About Acting4DHH II

How do we enhance understanding and solidarity among Deaf and Hearing citizens? What does everyday communication and collaboration among them look like?

The Acting4DHH II project brings together 4 European Deaf communities (Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Greece) who join forces to raise awareness and advocate for more inclusion and accessibility through citizen social science!

Scaling up a successful approach piloted in Thessaloniki, Greece

Web2Learn’s engagement with the Deaf community of Thessaloniki dates back to May 2023, with its first citizen science workshops that have been continued since February 2024.

In this context, Acting4DHH was first implemented in Thessaloniki by Web2Learn, in collaboration with the Association of the Deaf of Northern Greece (EKVE), from June 2024 to January 2025.

Through this kick-start grant, funded by the IMPETUS Accelerator 2024 call, Deaf and Hearing citizens came to together in a series of face-to-face workshops that led to the creation of a video series depicting instances of everyday communication and collaboration among them. You can access the Acting4DHH videos and story here.

Acting4DHH II

Powered by the positive impact of the Acting4DHH project at local level, Web2Learn designed its scaling up at national and European level, by opening up the project’s objectives, target groups and vision to 4 Deaf communities (PL, SK, GR, UA)!
