Web2Learn is happy to join forces with open innovation teams around Europe participating to the hackathon EUSpace4Ukraine.
From June 29 to July 1 the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) organises a hackathon for teams wishing to use Earth Observations and satellite imagery for a social purpose: provide solutions to enhance humanitarian support to those fleeing the war in Ukraine.
The theme that Web2Learn has submitted (and which has been selected by the organisers) to run in the competition is “Cultural heritage under threat”
Team members are:
- Katerina Zourou, Web2Learn, Challenge initiator
- Bente Lilja Bye, BLB, technical expert on earth observations
- Jovanka Gulicoska, system development expert
- Stefania Oikonomou, Web2Learn, team member
More information about the EUSPA hackathon can be found here
This hackathon Challenge is a result of a matchmaking event that EUSPA organised to match Earth observation Innovators with NGOs/Helpers . The event took place on May 17, 2022. Web2Learn figures here among the NGOs/Helpers to join the hackathon. A snapshot can be found here.
This activity is part of the EU-funded project HEIDI (Digital Actions at HEIs as a catalyst for social change in the COVID-19 crisis’) in which Web2Learn is one of key partners.
