Web2Learn\u2019s upcoming actions at the Lemnos Marine Conservation initiative<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In a harsh reality for the survival of our marine ecosystems, any action towards their safeguarding provides critical support and \u201cbreath\u201d to our seas and their living creatures!<\/p>

\ud83c\udf31Continuing our participatory environmental actions in the remote Greek island of Lemnos (https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/3hddh85w<\/a>), this time Web2Learn is proudly contributing to the success of a special initiative set up by the Lemnos Marine Conservation (LMC, https:\/\/lemnosmarineconservation.org\/<\/a>) team.<\/p>

LMC, in collaboration with its supporters and the Archipelagos, Institute of Marine Conservation (https:\/\/archipelago.gr\/),<\/a> has designed a special mission to protect Lemno\u2019s seagrass! In November 2024, the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation will visit Lemnos with the research vessel \u201cTriton\u201d for a mission that aims to protect the unique marine biodiversity of the island.<\/p>

Upcoming citizen science actions with schools in Lemnos<\/strong><\/p>

\u0391. From November 18, we will carry out a series of educational workshops on marine biodiversity and citizen science<\/strong> in collaboration with students and teachers of elementary and secondary schools of Lemnos, as part of the educational and scientific component of the expedition!<\/p>

Thanks to our immediate action taking, more than 11 schools<\/strong> in the towns of Myrina, Moudros, Livadohori, Kaspakas and Kontias, have accepted to be part of this participatory an hands-on learning experience that aims to bring long-lasting benefits both to Lemnos\u2019 marine ecosystem and its inhabitants!<\/p>

B. Additionally, we will actively engage in citizen science actions, together with students, teachers and the Archipelagos scientists, thus fostering hands-on skills of Lemnos\u2019 school communities in citizen science for marine conservation!<\/p>

Web2Learn\u2019s contribution to the success of the LMC crowdfunding campaign!<\/strong><\/p>

Our Web2Learn team, under the leadership of Katerina Zourou, engaged actively in the dissemination and communication of the LMC crowdfunding campaign that aimed to gather 30.000 euros for the expedition. Answering immediately to the call, our team, thanks to our talented graphic designers, Klairi Fragiadaki and Aspasia Kralli, created a user-attractive website (https:\/\/lemnosmarineconservation.org\/),<\/a> an instagram account (@lemnosmarineconservation), flyers, posters and stands that were spread all over the city of Myrina and the island of Lemnos!<\/p>

The result? The campaign was successfully completed with over 38.000 euros collected (https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/yc7n8pa9)<\/a> and the \u201cTriton\u201d vessel is set to reach Lemnos\u2019 shores on the 16th of November 2024!<\/p>
