Acting4DHH: Web2Learn\u2019s new citizen science initiative for the Deaf community funded by IMPETUS!\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

We couldn\u2019t be prouder and happier to know that the \u201cActing4DHH\u201d proposal envisioned by Katerina Zourou, our managing director, has been approved by the IMPETUS Accelerator<\/a> programme along 5 \u201ccitizen science for communities\u201d projects across Europe!<\/p>

Building on our work and commitment<\/a> to expand the inclusivity and accessibility of citizen science, in particular for the benefit of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) citizens, Acting4DHH is designed to enhance the engagement of the Greek DHH community in citizen science for social good! Specifically, Acting4DHH is a project by the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community in Thessaloniki, Greece, aiming to improve social wellbeing through citizen social science.<\/p>

The project is the continuation of Web2Learn\u2019s actions with the Deaf community in the framework of the EU-funded project CitSci4All<\/a> and European Citizen Science<\/a>.<\/p>

Project overview and foreseen results<\/strong>
Acting4DHH deploys five citizen science activities designed to overcome the knowledge, skills and communication barriers of DHH citizens and to leverage civic engagement and inclusion in society. A CS paper (pre-print), a zine, a video testimonial series, one blog post in ECSA\u2019s Lighthouse newsletter and a dedicated project page on Scistarter will be the key results of Acting4DHH.<\/p>

The innovative dimension of the project lies in its objective to enhance the social wellbeing of DHH people through citizen social science projects in which Hearing people act as co-creators and advocates of DHH inclusion and accessibility.<\/p>

To ensure participants are fully inform and provide their consent on the use of fotos and videos taken during the project activities, we distributed to them the following visual Participant Information Sheet<\/a> and Consent Form<\/a>, which are are under a CC BY 4.0 – Creative Commons Attribution Licence. The forms were customized following the original format (DOI: 10.53962\/qnyw-vvcd) created by\u00a0 the SensJus<\/a> project – Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie grant n. 891513.<\/p>
